CAM Awards 2009 in association with BioCare®
This year’s Practitioner Awards, sponsored by BioCare®, continues CAM’s commitment to recognising the practitioners’ and students’ who use CAM to make a real difference to their community, or simply excel in their field of work.
So, do you know a nutritionist who is head and shoulders above the rest? Or a homeopath who has helped their local community using CAM therapies? If you do, simply nominate them for this prestigious award.
The awards will be presented at the CAM Conferences which will be launching in 2009 and the winners will receive a substantial cash prize, as well as coverage in CAM magazine.
The Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award
This award will recognise a practitioner or group of practitioners who have had a demonstrable impact on a local community or a special group.
Examples may be:
Introducing CAM to a new geographic area
Involving people in a cultivation of good health through education programmes
Making a special contribution to a specific group of people, such as those with chronic fatigue
Offering services to local institutions, such as a prison, nursing home or hospital
Making CAM available to low income groups
CAM Student of the Year
This award aims to recognise a student, at any stage of their course, who is impressing teaching staff as being of great promise. Universities, colleges and schools are invited to nominate students for this award, which may also be used to help a deserving student raise funds they need to complete the course, or to carry out a specific piece of research.
Outstanding practice award
In this category we are looking to recognise a practitioner, or group of practitioners whose work has inspired and motivated others. This may be because they have developed effective protocols for treating difficuly medical conditions, broken new ground or provided a unique combination of facilities for their patients.
Examples may be:
Pioneering treatment for specific medical conditions
Conducting research and/or demonstrating how basic research can be accomplished
Deserving recognition for informing and educating colleagues
Pursuing relevant continuing professional development to improve practice standards.
Individual Excellence in Nutritional Knowledge
This award has been created to reward an individual who has excelled at continuos personal development through continued, relevant and current self-education in general or one specific field of nutrition.
Evidence of this may be from:
The Health Food Institute
A course with a supplier
An independent, private or local training organisation
A government sponsored education body
University/College
Work related achievements
